Q102 (WQTU-FM) is committed to positively impacting the health and welfare of children and families in communities throughout Northwest Georgia by establishing and maintaining partnerships with local and national nonprofit organizations; providing resources and valuable information to our constituents; and, actively engaging our staff and listeners in various aspect of community service.

Open to all high school age students and adults.
· This workshop will focus on the portrait and the many different mediums of expression: pen and ink, painting, drawing, charcoal, and clay sculpture.
· Ms. Knight will demonstrate and reveal the characteristics that make up the head, face, neck and shoulders. As the student becomes aware of the features of the head, he or she can be more effective in portraying the spirit of the subject.
· Please bring in what supplies are necessary and a photograph of the subject.
· Easels, tables and chairs will be provided as well as water and a light lunch.
· The cost of the workshop is $45.00.

Cliff Patton and Skeeter (a unique critter) will entertain children and
adults on Tuesday, June 12th at 10:00 a.m. Cliff has been performing to school
groups and libraries for over thirty years and is loved by all. He is a master
ventriloquist, comedy magician and professional balloon artist. Don’t miss
this magical event! The program is sponsored by Drs. Amar and Poonan Singh. And will be held in the Coosa Room of the Rome Floyd Public Library.

Ron Anglin, a juggler and entertainer for over seventeen years, will
present “Quite a Catch” at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 14th. Tumbling, juggling, singing and clowning around are part of the entertainment that Mr. Ron Anglin provides. The program is sponsored by W.C. Owen. It is in the Coosa Room of the Rome Floyd Public Library.

The annual Northwest Georgia Balloon Festival in Menlo allows for all ages to enjoy music, arts and crafts, carnival rides and, of course, hot air balloons!
Come early or stay late to see the colorful lift-off of balloons in a variety of shapes and sizes rise effortlessly through the sky against the backdrop of scenic Lookout Mountain. For those brave enough to experience the "high" of ballooning, tethered rides are also available.

The Theta Omicron Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha is sponsoring a free women's health fair on
Saturday, June 16, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The fair will take place at the Westminister Presbyterian Church on Shorter Avenue and feature the Women of Worth Center of Rome and the Breast Center at Floyd.
Area will be available for children to play while women participate in the fair.

Zumbathon is the newest C.H.A.M.P.S. fundraiser for the C.H.A.M.P.S. (Choosing Healthy Activities, Methods, Promoting Safety) program which is strictly funded through local donations and sponsorship. Do you like to paint or sculpt flowers, plants or animals?Then this is the show you have been waiting for!
The Visual Arts Committee invites all artists, age 18 and up, to submit up to five pieces of original art based on the summer theme, “Flora & Fauna”.
